Worth the Drive for the Right Job

Auto Repair for Powell Drivers

Powell has plenty of repair shops and we are not one of the close ones. Tizzano Automotive is an owner-operated shop in Plain City, so the sensible thing is to be clear about when making the trip is worth it and when it is not.

Nick spent twelve years as a dealership technician before opening his own shop. What you get here is direct access to him. The person who diagnoses your car is the person who repairs it and the person who calls you about it, which is exactly the arrangement that matters most on the jobs nobody else has managed to solve.

What We Handle Most:
  • Brake repair, from a squeal through to a full pad and rotor job
  • Check engine lights and drivability faults that need real diagnosis
  • Suspension, steering and wheel bearing work
  • Exhaust repair, tires, scheduled maintenance and general repair

What We Do and What We Do Not

If you are considering a drive, the last thing you want is to arrive and find the work is not done here. So here is the scope in plain terms, before you get in the car.

Handled Here:
  • Brakes, suspension and steering, wheel bearings and hubs
  • Diagnostics for check engine lights, warning lights and drivability faults
  • Exhaust repair and replacement, tires, and scheduled maintenance
  • Cooling, charging and fuel delivery, plus selected upper-engine work
Not Handled Here:
  • Air conditioning service, until the equipment is purchased
  • Transmission rebuilds or replacements, fluid service only
  • Internal engine rebuilds, and wheel alignments, which we arrange instead

Telling you that up front costs us some calls. It also means nobody drives out from Powell for something we were never going to be able to do.

What Changes When You Leave the Service Drive

  • 01

    You talk to the technician

At a dealership your description of the problem passes through an advisor before it reaches anyone holding a wrench, and the findings come back the same way. Here the person diagnosing the car is the person calling you about it.

  • 02

You get the choice on parts

Original equipment is the right answer on some jobs and an expensive habit on others. You hear what the options cost and what the practical difference is, then you decide rather than having it decided quietly.

  • 03

Diagnosis is the job, not the upsell

Replacing the part a trouble code happens to name is quick and often wrong. Testing the circuit and confirming the cause takes longer and is the reason the same light does not come back a month later.

  • 04

You can see what came off

Old parts are kept for you to look at, and a condemned component comes with the measurement that condemned it. Trust is easier to give when it can be checked.

  • 05

The shop says no when it should

Air conditioning, transmission rebuilds and internal engine work are not done here. Saying so plainly is better than taking the car in and handing you a disappointment three days later.

  • 06

    One technician, start to finish

Your car is not handed between whoever is free. The same person sees it from the first road test to the last, which is how small details stop getting lost between shifts.

What to Expect

How a Visit Works

Knowing how an appointment runs makes the first visit a lot easier.

  • 01

    Call or Text First

Tell us the vehicle and what it is doing. This is a one-technician shop, so scheduling ahead means your car gets looked at rather than parked.

  • 02

    Drop the Car Off

Bring anything you have noticed about when the problem happens, because that detail saves diagnostic time later.

  • 03

    Findings Before Work

You get a call with what was found, how it was confirmed and what the repair involves. Nothing proceeds until you have agreed to it.

  • 04

    Repair and Pick Up

The work is completed and road tested before you collect it, and you are welcome to ask to see whatever came off the car.

Common Questions

Questions from Powell Drivers

  • Yes. Powell drivers are welcome to book in for anything within the scope described above. Tizzano Automotive is located in Plain City and every repair is carried out there, so this is a page about who we serve rather than a second location.

  • 7650 Industrial Pkwy, Suite B2. The easiest way to find us is the pin on our Google listing, or call (614) 802-6549 and we will talk you in.

  • Honestly, for an oil change, no. There are closer options and we would point you at them. Where the drive earns itself is diagnostic work: a fault that has already been somewhere else, a light that keeps returning after being cleared, or a noise that has had parts thrown at it without being found. Getting that right once costs less than getting it wrong twice nearby.

  • Yes, and for a drive of that length it is usually the sensible plan. Dropping off means the diagnosis is not rushed to fit a waiting room, and you get a call with the findings rather than a summary delivered while you stand at a counter.

  • Not in-house. Alignments need equipment we do not currently have, so rather than pretend otherwise we arrange it for you when suspension or steering work calls for one. It is handled, just not under our roof.

  • It comes down to what you want from the visit. A dealership has the brand tooling and a service drive, and for warranty work that is the right call. What you give up is access. Here you speak directly to the technician working on your car, you hear what was actually found before anything is replaced, and you can ask to see the old part. That is what this shop is built around.
